Equipping
Equipping local believers to enter into the brokenness of people’s lives and speak hope.
“When the church is silent to a person in crisis, it can sound remarkably like silence from God." Amy Simpson
We want to come along side of local believers and help equip them for the work of interpersonal ministry. Through relationships and trainings we help local believers:
Cultivate a culture of care
Equip lay counselors
Provide resources for life’s struggles
Develop pathways for community support.
Our goal to help them understand people and their struggles better, to listen well and ask good questions, and to walk along side of others through difficult circumstances. Ultimately, we want to help them love others wisely.
Along with this we want to help them see the mission field that surrounds them and equip them to boldly and lovingly reach out to those who don’t know Jesus.
We will also learn from them and understand what it is like to follow Jesus in their context. We approach this endeavor with much humility realizing that we, too, have much to learn.
“This life therefore is not righteousness, but growth in righteousness, not health, but healing, not being but becoming, not rest but exercise. We are not yet what we shall be, but we are growing toward it, the process is not yet finished, but it is going on, this is not the end, but it is the road. All does not yet gleam in glory, but all is being purified.”
Martin Luther
